The workshop, to discuss water tank mixing started at 11:10 a.m. Essentially this is to address the issue of the water freezing in these large tanks during the winter.

Solar Bee rep Michelle explained the company history, manufacturing and location. She then explained how the Solar Bee tank stirrers work. It was explained in detail how the tank stirrers address many issues with potable water storage. The water tank located at the end of Little River Road was targeted for a solar driven system as there is no electrical service. It was stated by the Rep’s that the system would run for up to 3 sunless days, but at reduced performance. The basic system is estimated to cost $14,000 without installation.
Ms. McCadden then showed the proposed stirrer for the Cherry Mountain Tank. Since there is electrical power on this site the system is a submersible system to stir the water in the tank. Estimated cost without installation is $8,000.

Both systems have an estimated life of 25 years.

Several attendees had a few questions. The reps will send Scott more information on these systems.

The information session ended at 1:05 p.m.
