Carroll Board of Selectmen
Meeting Minutes
October 3, 2006
"These minutes of the Town of Carroll Select Board have been recorded by its Secretary. Though believed to be accurate and correct they are subject to additions, deletions and corrections by the Select Board at its next meeting when the Board votes its final approval of the minutes. They are being made available at this time to conform to the requirements of New Hampshire RSA 91-A:2."

Minutes recorded by Susan Kraabel, Secretary.

Board members present: Bill Wright, Allen Strasser, Bonnie Moroney

The meeting was called to order at 9:00 PM after the presentation by Charles Adams of Celebration Associates.

Various town residents stayed for this meeting between the selectmen and representative owners of the Mount Washington Hotel Resort.

Selectman Strasser gave a brief synopsis of the process leading up the March Town Elections, and advised Mr. Adams that any zoning changes they might seek need to be submitted by early January. Mr. Adams said it was too early for any development outside of what is currently allowed. He stated that their development would be an evolutionary process, not revolutionary. When asked about a possible timeline, he stated that for the next 6-12 months they would be finishing what’s already started. Next spring or summer they will probably have new designs, and some kind of conceptual plan. They will contract with someone, probably a New Hampshire University, to do an economic impact study, and have information based on this in the fall of 2007. He estimated the village development to come in three years.

John Goodney said the town is going to set up a committee to deal with pandemic flu preparedness, and asked if he could approach Fred Hollis, head of hotel security, to participate. Mr. Adams agreed Mr. Hollis would be a good choice.

Discussion took place regarding methods of keeping Bretton Woods residents better informed of events in town, and it was suggested that Craig Stalk could provide email addresses for board presidents, and the Sports Club would be a place to post notices.

At 9:20 PM, as there was no additional business, Chairman Wright declared the meeting ended and moved to go into executive session regarding personnel. This was seconded by Selectman Moroney. The board was polled, all three voted yea, and went into executive session.

At the close of executive session, Chairman Wright made a motion to return to public session and seal the minutes from executive session; Selectman Moroney seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
