Meeting Minutes
June 16, 2023

“These minutes of the Town of Carroll Select Board have been recorded by its Secretary. Though believed to be accurate and correct they are subject to additions, deletions and corrections by the Select Board at its next meeting when the Board votes its final approval of the minutes. They are being made available at this time to conform to the requirements of New Hampshire RSA 91-A:2.”

The meeting was called to order at 12:45 p.m. by Chairperson Marquis.

Pledge of Allegiance.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT VACANCY – The Board discussed advertising the position in the Coos County Democrat, The Littleton Courier, and The Berlin paper for three weeks, as well as in the Caledonian Record for one week. The Board also discussed posting the position on the Town’s website and Facebook page, as well as at the Town Hall. Selectperson Greer motioned to advertise the Administrative Assistant position as discussed and until filled; Chairperson Marquis seconded. Discussion – none. All in Favor: Greer-AYE, Marquis-AYE. The Board also indicated that pay would be based upon experience. A copy of the advertisement is attached.

SELECT BOARD VACANCY – The Board discussed following the same protocol as previously done for the last resignation of a Select Board member. The Board requested that the Select Board vacancy be posted in the 6/21/23 edition Coos County Democrat and run for one week; The Board also requested posting the vacancy on the Town’s website and Facebook page, as well as at the Town Hall. The Board discussed and set the deadlines for interested applicants to apply by, as well as a meeting date to review the letters of interest. Selectperson Greer motioned to advertise the Select Board vacancy in the Coos County Democrat for one week, as well as post on the Town’s website and Facebook page; Chairperson Marquis seconded. Discussion – none. All in Favor: Greer-AYE, Marquis-AYE. A copy of the advertisement is attached.

OTHER

David Scalley inquired if the Administrative Assistant position was going to be posted, as he arrived after the topic was discussed. The Board confirmed it would be.

At 12:53 p.m., Selectperson Greer motioned to go into non-public session per RSA 91-A:3 II. The motion was seconded by Chairperson Marquis; Discussion – none. The Board agreed; All in Favor: Greer-AYE, Marquis-AYE.

At 1:33 p.m., Selectperson Greer motioned to return to public session and seal the minutes. The motion was seconded by Chairperson Marquis and polled; All in Favor: Greer-AYE, Marquis-AYE. The motion passed unanimously.

The Board discussed upcoming meeting dates. Chairperson Marquis announced several dates for the for the next Select Board meetings:

Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. in the Community Room.
Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. in the Community Room.
Tuesday, June 28, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. in the Community Room (NHMA WORKSHOP CLASS)

Selectperson Greer motioned to adjourn the meeting. Chairperson Marquis seconded. All in Favor: Greer-AYE, Marquis-AYE; and the motion passed unanimously. Chairperson Marquis declared the meeting ended at 1:35 p.m.
